I’ve known my whole life that I wanted to do this.

When I was young, my parents would tell me, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”

I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t have a dog by my side. Growing up on the ocean, I learned how to swim before I could walk. Around the house, I would latch on to the family German Shepard while she towed me from room to room until I learned how to walk.  Raised in the harbors of the country’s oldest seaport, I had a natural curiosity for the ocean, running the marshes and sailing the seas. With such a strong connection to the outside world, I was a natural scientist.

This curiosity eventually lead me to my Bachelor's degree in Aquaculture from the University of New England in 2007, and then the next four years at MIT working in both research and educational outreach in their Sea Grant program. While working in Cambridge, I was lucky enough to stumble into acupuncture for personal treatment for the chronic migraines I’d been suffering since childhood. Regular acupuncture treatments enabled me to cut ties with migraine medications and truly changed my life. Though I loved my research in aquaculture, biodiesel, and robotics, my true passion was in veterinary medicine, which I dove into head first.

I graduated from Ross School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Through my education at Ross, I spent my clinical year at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine from 2013-2014. Understanding the absolute benefits of acupuncture, I knew I wanted to integrate veterinary acupuncture as part of my medical practice. So, I began my Eastern medicine studies at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), where I received my Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture.

Shortly after I started treating my small animal patients with a combination of both Eastern and Western medicine, I knew I needed to further my studies in TCVM. This has included certification in Acupuncture, Tui Na, and Food therapy.  Nevertheless, learning never ends, and neither does my curiosity. I completed my Masters Degree in TCVM in 2021.

This holistic approach to medicine has helped me to provide the most effective treatments for each of my patient’s unique needs.  Integrated veterinary medicine has enabled me to bring the best care to each of my patients by accelerating healing time, preventing disease, mitigating side effects of other medications and treatments, and most importantly, bringing each of my patients closer to their best life.

What I’ve come to realize, is that when you love what you do, you will actually work very, very hard... but it will be worth it.  I choose to practice veterinary medicine because I believe that our bonds with animals are what make us human.

I would love the opportunity to work with you and your animal loved one to put together a customized and effective treatment plan.  Please contact me to schedule time for a conversation.
